Upper Mississippi Academy is a non-districted public school that provides a high quality education by using innovative teaching methods to foster creativity and promote student achievement. UMA provides an engaging environment that supports dynamic teaching and learning through an interdisciplinary and multi-dimensional instructional approach.  In our commitment to honoring diversity both in culture and disciplines, we have designed our learning program to eliminate the hierarchy of subjects, recognizing that the arts, the sciences, humanities, languages, physical education, and mathematics have equal and central contributions to make to our students' education. Finally, at UMA we recognize that learning is a distinct, personal process that honors individual learning styles and natural abilities while moving toward academic and lifelong goals.
